Bonnymede & Montecito Shores - Oceanfront And Beachfront Condos In Montecito CA.

When it comes to looking at condo options in Montecito CA, there are only a handful of complexes that do exist.  If you are looking for a condo or town home style home directly on the beach, there are only 2 options.  Both of these options are located on some of the most pristine coastal areas we have in CA. The names of the two complexes are Bonnymede and Montecito Shores.


The Bonnymede condominium complex is located just next to the spectacular Four Seasons Biltmore and Coral Casino here in Montecito CA.  The original buildings for Bonnymede were constructed in 1965 and consisted of 113 condos.  The exterior of the buildings still have the 1960's style feel, but the overall grounds are now very mature, clean / modern looking and somewhat tropical. There are numerous shopping and dining possibilities located just a few hundred yards away on Coast Village Road...Montecito’s "Lower Village".  Additionally you can reach the "Upper Village" as well as Santa Barbara in a quick 4-5 minute drive. Bonnymede has a security person at the guarded gate.  The overall complex has a pool and spa, tennis court and a beachside entertainment area.  Most of these facilities seem very lightly used.  Bonnymede again sits on a gorgeous coastline that invites you to indulge in walks and outdoor pursuits year round. There is a large variety of floor plans within the complex that consist of both town homes style as well as single level units.  Sizes range from studios to 1 bedrooms to 2 and 3 bedroom units.  Many to most of the units have been updated and modernized over the years. The Association fees range in price from roughly $510 / month all the way up to $1400 per month based on size of the unit. Prices currently range greatly in the complexes from $1 to $5 million based on the size, location, upgrades etc.

Montecito Shores

The Montecito Shores condo complex is located right next to Bonnymede and in fact shares the same guarded gate.  Montecito Shores was constructed in 1974 and consists of 99 condos.  The exterior of Montecito Shores still has the look and feel of a 1970's or even 1980's Spanish style building, but the overall grounds are spectacular with mature lush landscape.  Many to most of the units have been updated and modernized over the years.

Montecito Shores[/caption] Similar to Bonnymede, Montecito Shores has its' own pool, spa and tennis court.  Every building in Montecito Shores looks very similar from the outside and is three stories high.  One big difference with this complex is that it was built in a way that there are no common walls between the units and additionally all the units are single level and can be accessed via an elevator. Montecito Shores have 2 and 3 bedroom floorplans. The Association fees range in price from roughly $1,000 to $1200 / month based on the size of the units. Prices currently range greatly in the complexes from $1 to $5 million based on the size, location, upgrades etc.
